One database to rule them all: Palantir takes over the West

Forget black helicopters, smoky back rooms, and hooded secret societies. The New World Order of 2026 arrives as a software license with a maintenance contract; it's called Palantir, and it won't be established in secret, but rather celebrated with a press release.

A single company now has a presence simultaneously in the databases of the US tax authorities, in the deportation machinery of immigration law enforcement, in NATO's command center, and in the server rooms of the Pentagon – and its CEO declares on live television that his mission is to frighten enemies and occasionally kill them. Anyone who made such claims in the past would have been labeled a conspiracy theorist. Today, it's in the quarterly reports.

The seer stone that devours its master
The irony is provided by the company itself. In Tolkien's works, a palantír is the seer-stone that reveals the entire world to its user—and which Sauron uses to corrupt anyone who gazes into it. Saruman was broken by it, Denethor was burned by it. It was precisely after this artifact that Peter Thiel and Alex Karp named their data company in 2003, which was launched with seed capital from In-Q-Tel, the CIA's venture capital arm. To their credit, subtlety was never their strong suit. They named the tool of total surveillance after the tool of total corruption, and the West applauded, invested, and drove the company's market capitalization to over $300 billion.

One database to rule them all
In March 2025, Donald Trump signed an executive order with the cutesy title “Eliminating information silos” – Eliminating information silos. Sounds like filing system hygiene, but it means: All federal agencies are supposed to pool their data. Tax records, social security data, health records, immigration records – one pot, one access point. And who's stirring this pot? The New York Times reported that the government had contracted Palantir to build a central, searchable database on Americans. Palantir vehemently denied this via a blog post and X (formerly Twitter). According to the same company, Palantir received a commission. Contract documents in The Intercept's possession, so far over $130 million from the US tax authority IRS, whose investigation platform combines dozens of sensitive databases to find "the needle in the haystack".

In parallel, in April 2025, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) received a $30 million contract for "ImmigrationOS" —an operating system for deportations, awarded without competitive bidding because supposedly no one else could build anything like it. It links passports, social security numbers, tax data, license plate scanners, and cell phone data to create target profiles with "real-time visibility." A tool that tracks migrants today will track anyone a government deems a problem tomorrow. The architecture doesn't ask about the use case; it waits for it.

The battlefield as a business model
Anyone who thinks this will remain an American problem hasn't reckoned with Brussels and Mons. On March 25, 2025, NATO purchased Palantir missiles. Maven Smart System for its entire command structure – AI-supported target acquisition, battlefield analysis, accelerated decision-making. The alliance boasted that it was one of the fastest procurements in its history: six months from idea to contract. Europe needs ten years for a school building, but outsourcing its warfare to a US data company takes half a year. The Pentagon hesitated. Maven simultaneously raised its bid to $1,3 billion.The US Army followed in July 2025 with a framework agreement worth ten billion dollars. Software that decides what constitutes a target – operated by a company whose CEO, according to Gizmodo Grinning, he announced that Palantir's purpose was "to frighten enemies and occasionally kill them." In the same investor call, he rejoiced at the dismantling of the US government apparatus: it was a revolution, he said, and some people would have their heads chopped off in the process. Shareholders cheered, and the stock price rose.

Democracy? An outdated model with a maintenance contract.
To prevent anyone from claiming it's all just empty rhetoric, the leadership provides the ideology in writing. Co-founder Peter Thiel already explained... 2009 in an essay for Cato UnboundHe no longer believed that freedom and democracy were compatible. This man later financed JD Vance's election, and his company now controls the very data infrastructure of the democracy he considers an outdated concept.

Karp, in turn, published a manifesto with "The Technological Republic," the core points of which the company proudly disseminated as a 22-point thread on X (formerly Twitter) in April 2026 : Silicon Valley should build "hard power," including AI weapons; Germany and Japan should rearm; conscription should return; and international restrictions on autonomous weapons systems are considered an obstacle, not an objective. Over 21 million people read the thread; the outrage was global—and completely ineffective. The revolving door is already in full swing: Former Palantir employees occupy key positions in the US government, held influential positions at Musk's DOGE, and the federal CIO also comes from the company. They write the contracts they then carry out.

And Europe? Instead of pulling the emergency brake, it's ordering more. German police authorities are using Gotham for analysis, NATO is having its situational awareness maps drawn up by Maven, and the EUdSSR, usually in a regulatory frenzy over every cookie banner, is watching as its security architecture is transferred to a corporation whose founder considers democracy a design flaw. Anyone still calling this a conspiracy theory simply hasn't read the press releases: The consolidation of tax data, health data, movement data, and destination coordinates into a single private infrastructure isn't a theory; it's a contractual agreement—documented, dated, and signed. The New World Order doesn't need a coup; it just needs an update window.

Balance: The stone sees you
The old order ruled with banks and bombs, the new one rules with interfaces – and it has learned from history: Whoever controls the database no longer needs a secret police, just a search port. Sauron had to laboriously haul his seer stone up towers. His heirs deliver it as a cloud subscription with quarterly dividends. A company named after an artifact of corruption is selling the West total surveillance of its citizens – and calls this "defending democracy"! Once the algorithm decides who is a tax evader, who is a candidate for deportation, and who is a target, no one will ask who programmed it! And while Brussels bans straws, NATO buys Sauron's eye on a six-month express delivery – welcome to the world order that no one chose and everyone pays for!
