No one explains VAT to a billionaire at dinner. They serve him wine and offer him a Nobel laureate to touch. This quid pro quo kept a convicted sex offender at the center of the planet's brightest minds for a decade, and no one found it odd as long as the expenses were right.

The man sold access to intelligence without having to demonstrate any himself. He bought himself dinners with physicists, funded their pet projects, and sat at the head of the table while the brightest minds vied for his attention. His ticket in was a checkbook.

The Billionaires' Dinner: How Epstein bought the world's brightest minds

The salon, which was paid for by a pervert
The platform was called the Edge Foundation, run by literary agent John Brockman as a digital salon for great thinkers. What the guest list long concealed: After BuzzFeed News examined the tax documents, Jeffrey Epstein was by far the biggest financial backer of this salon for years.BuzzFeed NewsAn analysis of the financial statements between 2001 and 2015 revealed approximately $638,000 from Epstein's network of foundations, and in several years he was the sole donor. The New RepublicHis last recorded donation was in 2015. That same year, the legendary billionaire dinner ended. Anyone who thinks that's a coincidence probably also believes that foundations exist out of pure altruism.

What Epstein got in return was a key. He sat next to Nobel laureates and used Brockman's address book as a gateway to a world a convicted sex offender would otherwise never have entered ( Scientific American ). Even after his 2008 conviction, he remained an inviter. At an Edge dinner in Long Beach in 2011, he was openly on the guest list, politely described as a money manager and science philanthropist ( Byline Times ). The tech titans in attendance were informed in advance who would be dining. There was no outrage; caviar was served.

The deal everyone knows and no one explains
Back to that conviction, which still reeks of decay. Instead of a 53-page federal indictment, Epstein signed a non-prosecution agreement in 2008, receiving a 13-month sentence in county jail with day release for work, and the agreement also protected all his co-conspirators.The Daily BeastThe victims were deliberately excluded, which is why a federal judge later ruled that the deal violated their legally enshrined rights. Justice tailored to a single client.

Then there's the quote that ignites the entire intelligence narrative: Prosecutor Acosta is said to have stated that he was told Epstein belonged to the intelligence services, hands off. Honesty only comes from citing the sources: The statement stems from a single reporter's account with an anonymous source, Acosta denied it under oath, and the 2020 Justice Department report found no evidence of intelligence service involvement ( Skeptic ). Does this mean the deal was clean? Of course not. It simply means that the most sensational explanation is the weakest supported, while the mundane truth that powerful friends open powerful doors is perfectly sufficient.

The cold fusion and the hot legend
The claim that Epstein personally stifled cold fusion research is also circulating. A nice story, just told backwards. The experiments of Martin Fleischmann and Stanley Pons collapsed in 1989 without any sinister financier, simply because laboratories worldwide could not reproduce their results and the physics community dismissed the whole thing as pathological science.Cold Fusion, WikipediaEven Google burned through around $10 million three decades later and found no evidence to support it (ITERYou don't need an Epstein to bury an idea that self-destructs in a test tube. The legend illustrates the pattern: where a genuine conspiracy seems too bland, a bigger one is invented, and in the end, people prefer to believe the script rather than the lab report.

From the salon to the server room
The network didn't dissolve, it merely changed location. On September 18, 2023, Elon Musk sat in the Tesla factory in Fremont with Benjamin Netanyahu, physicist Max Tegmark, and Greg Brockman of OpenAI, in front of a live camera, discussing the beneficial AI revolution (JTAThe fact that a Brockman happened to be in the group is pure coincidence, as the OpenAI employee is not related to the Edge agent. The connection isn't even necessary for the joke: it's the same kind of salon, only the wine has been replaced by data centers, and the message is that it's all for our own good.

And then there's Peter Thiel, whom some would like to portray as a puppet, which is doing him too much credit. More concrete evidence exists: Court records show years of correspondence between Thiel and Epstein from 2014 to 2019. Epstein called him his great friend in emails and invested around $40 million in a venture capital fund co-founded by Thiel ( The Stanford Daily ). None of these sources accuse him of criminal activity, and he denies ever having visited Epstein's island ( Hoodline ). This doesn't make the matter any less serious, only more precise: Closeness isn't a crime, but it's also not an oversight when it's maintained years after conviction.

What's left over from dinner
Anyone looking for a horror story about a single villain hasn't grasped the principle, because the real scandal isn't Epstein, but the ease with which science, technology, and politics can be bought. The depth of this corruption has been dissected repeatedly on this blog, by From Rockefeller to Epstein to Gates up to the question of how a sex offender could become the silent architect of the biggest vaccine deal in history (the silent architect).

These networks are not relics of the past; they continue to operate, only with better lighting. They sell us the future in the same tone they once used to sell us health.

You can buy off an entire scientific elite with dinner invitations and pet projects and call it advocacy. You can put a convicted sex offender at the head of the class for a decade and call it intellectual exchange. You can declare any uncomfortable question a conspiracy theory and any convenient lie science—and call this "the Third Culture"!

Draven has turned his hobby into a popular brand that cannot be classified.

My blog was never designed to spread news, let alone get political, but with current affairs I just can't help but capture information here that is otherwise censored on all other channels. I am aware that the design page may not seem "serious" to many in this regard, but I will not change this to please the "mainstream". Anyone who is open to non-state-compliant information sees the content and not the packaging. I've tried enough to provide people with information over the last 2 years, but quickly noticed that it never matters how it's "packaged", but what the other person's attitude towards it is. I don't want to put honey on anyone's mouth to meet expectations in any way, so I'll keep this design because hopefully at some point I'll be able to stop making these political statements, because it's not my goal to go on like this forever ;) I leave it up to everyone how they deal with it.
