While others are sipping mulled wine and preparing for year-end reviews, Scheitan are unleashing their new album on the world: "Wine For a Tormented Soul." Even the title evokes a dark, heavy atmosphere, promising not a relaxing meditation, but music for nights when you'd rather draw the curtains and crank up the amplifier.
The Swedish gothic rock/metal band delivers eight songs that don't aim to please, but rather to accompany you. Tracks like "Carry Me Home," "Heaven Tonight," and "Love n Death" are already familiar, but now they're finally where they belong: embedded in an album that functions as a cohesive whole. Not playlist fodder. Not a skip culture. Instead, a journey from which you'd best not return too soon.
The opener, "A Kiss of Death," immediately makes it clear where this is headed. Dark, dramatic, with that bittersweet heaviness that has always characterized Scheitan. Fittingly, there's also a video. Because some songs need a visual impact to be truly felt.
Mastermind Pierre Törnkvist explains the core of the album without any marketing hype: music as therapy. Like a best friend when life decides to deliver a few targeted blows. The last ten years haven't been easy for him. A close friend left far too soon, his father suddenly gone. No grand pronouncements, no pathos. Just reality. And that's exactly what you hear in these songs.
"Wine For a Tormented Soul" isn't an album for feel-good moments. It's an album for honest moments. For people who know that music can sometimes do more than just distract you. It keeps you going when nothing else will. Perhaps that also explains why this work absolutely belongs on vinyl. Black disc, needle down, world off. That's how this music works best.
Scheitan want to play the new songs live as often as possible. Good for them. Some records need to sweat before they truly come alive. This one definitely belongs in that category…

"Dravens Tales from the Crypt" has been enchanting for over 15 years with a tasteless mixture of humor, serious journalism - for current events and unbalanced reporting in the press politics - and zombies, garnished with lots of art, entertainment and punk rock. Draven has turned his hobby into a popular brand that cannot be classified.
My blog was never designed to spread news, let alone get political, but with current affairs I just can't help but capture information here that is otherwise censored on all other channels. I am aware that the design page may not seem "serious" to many in this regard, but I will not change this to please the "mainstream". Anyone who is open to non-state-compliant information sees the content and not the packaging. I've tried enough to provide people with information over the last 2 years, but quickly noticed that it never matters how it's "packaged", but what the other person's attitude towards it is. I don't want to put honey on anyone's mouth to meet expectations in any way, so I'll keep this design because hopefully at some point I'll be able to stop making these political statements, because it's not my goal to go on like this forever I leave it up to everyone how they deal with it. However, you are welcome to simply copy and distribute the content, my blog has always been under the WTFPL license.
