If hypocrisy reaches its peak, it probably looks like this: The Greens, the SPD, and the Left Party all leave Platform X with almost identical statements – declaring that the platform has descended into chaos, promotes disinformation, and is no longer a place for serious political communication. Just let that sink in. The same parties that for years poisoned, restricted, and morally firewalled the political debate are now bidding farewell by accusing the space itself of being poisoned. In political circles, this is called projection.

The staged departure of the controlled mindset: Covidiot, conspiracy theorist, disinformation agent, Nazi – and now they are the victims.

Let's start with the most obvious thing. Coordinated resignation statements with virtually identical wording aren't spontaneous outrage. This is collusion. This is PR. This is precisely what these parties supposedly fight against: coordinated narratives disguised as authentic expressions of opinion. Anyone who preaches "diversity" and then marches off the field in lockstep either doesn't have a mirror at home or knows exactly what they're doing—and hopes no one is looking. A coordinated exit while signaling independence—that's an art form. A very transparent one. Disinformation, they say. Disinformation.

December 2021. Katharina Dröge, a member of the Green Party, declared on live television that only those vaccinated three times were likely to be well protected against Omicron, and that this could mean further tightening of restrictions for 2G. No genuine subjunctive mood in practice, no scientific qualification in the tone, no room for doubt. Just pressure, fear, threats – all packaged as a "consequence of science." This example is not an isolated case. It is representative of a political communication strategy that functioned precisely this way for over two years: assertions became certainties, certainties became obligations, obligations became laws – and anyone who questioned them was labeled a "Covidiot," a "conspiracy theorist," unsolidary, or even a public menace.

2G, 3G, booster recommendations, vaccine promises that had to be revised every few weeks, measures deemed "without alternative" that disappeared shortly thereafter without comment – this wasn't science. This was politics using science as a shield. And every dissenting voice – whether from a doctor, economist, lawyer, or ordinary citizen – was branded a threat to public health in social media, editorials, and from parliamentary podiums. Anyone who asked further questions was deemed unsolidary. Anyone who asked louder questions was a conspiracy theorist. Anyone who asked questions in an organized manner was a Covidiot. And anyone who refused to be intimidated was ultimately labeled a Nazi. This is how the escalation logic of controlled thinking works: the more persistent the dissent, the harsher the labels become. The word "solidarity" was misused for so long that it functioned solely as a tool of coercion.

X did not do that.
It wasn't X who marginalized, defamed, and pressured millions of people. It wasn't X who declared political errors to be moral obligations. That came from the Bundestag, from the ministries, from press conferences, and from precisely those parties that are now leaving the chamber with theatrical pathos. Thanks, by the way. For the concern back then—and for the lack of self-awareness today.

The Paradox of Freedom
But why does this happen? Why does an entire political milieu slide so deeply into sectarianism without anyone within that milieu pulling the emergency brake? The answer is as simple as it is unpleasant: because no one can afford to anymore.

There's a phenomenon that could be called the "paradox of freedom." It states that beyond a certain point, increased freedom doesn't lead to more exchange, knowledge, and plurality—but rather, on the contrary, to segmentation and intellectual impoverishment. The logic behind it is frighteningly simple: those with many options choose the one that costs the least and promises the most validation. No one voluntarily spends time with people who hold different views and values. Unless compelled to do so professionally or through social pressure, no one engages with uncomfortable opinions.

This is all the more true when one moves in a post-materialist environment—that is, where speech acts and symbolic actions replace reality. Seeking pleasure, avoiding pain. This applies not only to action, but also to perception, information behavior, and the choice of conversation partners. And when this principle is highly aggregated, it has massive systemic consequences.

This is precisely what's happening in the left-wing/green bubble, which is trapped in a pervasive spiral of self-affirmation. The Allensbach Institute has documented it in black and white: Green Party supporters report the greatest difficulties with dissenting opinions. Only one in ten associates with people who lean towards another party. One in ten. This is no longer a political conviction. This is a cult with a parliamentary group.

Conditioned to the point of denial of reality
To fully understand this, one must consider the biography of this milieu. These people were raised this way. Their beliefs were reinforced at school. They were molded this way at university. They were fed this message daily by the mainstream media. This was reflected in their work environment – some government agency, some publicly funded organization, some NGO. The world always revolved around their wishes. And if something bothered them, they called in sick – often for several months at a time. They were simply never trained to deal with the contradictions of reality.

The staged departure of the controlled mindset: Covidiot, conspiracy theorist, disinformation agent, Nazi – and now they are the victims.

The result is deep conditioning: Many in this milieu have never learned—were never forced to accept—that reality exists independently of their own perceptions. That there can be a truth that differs from their own. Truth is what feels good. Truth is what confirms their own convictions. The idea that it could be different is beyond their comprehension. And because reality has ceased to function as a common standard, meaningful dialogue is no longer possible. And why bother—"it's all constructed anyway."

This conditioning doesn't just make these people unpleasant; it makes them unreachable. Facts are useless to them. They're selectively chosen, ignored, or morally blocked. Fake news. Racism. Right-wing extremism. Springer press. Lobbyists. Corporations. And if even that doesn't work, they just sit down in a huff and leave the platform. With a canned response, of course.

When institutions become confirmation machines
The truly dangerous aspect is that this dynamic is no longer just a problem confined to pubs and filter bubbles. Large segments of the media, academia, and even the judiciary now operate on the same principle of confirmation. What is true and who is guilty—that's already known. Research, investigation, and the presentation of evidence then serve only to search for confirming facts. The principle of falsification is reversed: Selective findings are presented as proof of the irrefutability of one's own convictions. Contrary facts are ignored—or, if that's not possible, morally dismissed, and the source itself is denied legitimacy.

"Follow the science" was never an invitation to think. It was an order to be silent.

So now it's X. The platform where dissent is visible, where there's no moderation, filtering, or curation until only the desired opinion remains—that's supposedly the reason for the withdrawal. The chaos there. The hatred. The disinformation. What's interesting is what isn't mentioned: that X also contains those dissenting voices that have been systematically silenced elsewhere. That questions are asked there that no longer find answers in other media. That the "poisoned debate space" is sometimes simply the space where one's own version of reality doesn't go unchallenged.

That's the real problem. Not chaos. Not hatred. Control—or more precisely, the loss of it. Because these parties had control. Over the narratives in public broadcasting, over the power to interpret events in talk shows, over the language of the pandemic. The fact that a social media platform of all platforms isn't playing along with this control—that's the real scandal behind their pious exit. Anyone who has used debate culture for years as a tool to push through an agenda doesn't recognize genuine debate—they're terrified of it. And terrified people leave the room. But they do so with dignity: coordinated, prearranged, using pre-written text. That's diversity for you. The kind of diversity where everyone thinks the same thing and just expresses it differently.

The political chaos these circles are lamenting today didn't fall from the sky. It was partly created – by years of moral oppression, epistemic presumption, and institutional arrogance. By a political system that interpreted questions as attacks, doubt as danger, and dissent as proof of poor character. Anyone now blaming this legacy on X either has a very short memory – or a very long one.

When a society fails to demand and institutionally enshrine engagement with reality, it drifts apart – into groups that create their own reality. This happens particularly where self-selection creates confirmation loops, especially in free and mobile societies. Therefore, what is happening in left-wing and green circles is not a curious fringe phenomenon. It is an alarming sign of decline.

The problem is not located on one platform.
It is located much closer to the Bundestag…
And it has just announced its departure – via a boilerplate text, of course!

The staged departure of the controlled mindset: Covidiot, conspiracy theorist, disinformation agent, Nazi – and now they are the victims.

I don't want to put honey on anyone's mouth to meet expectations in any way, so I'll keep this design because hopefully at some point I'll be able to stop making these political statements, because it's not my goal to go on like this forever ;) I leave it up to everyone how they deal with it.
