There are moments when history doesn't repeat itself, but stutters – with Crusader tattoos, Armageddon rhetoric, and nuclear warheads as the icing on the cake. Welcome to 2026, where the medieval Crusade collides with the most modern war machine in human history, and nobody in the room seems to notice how insane it is.

Immediately after the start of hostilities against Iran, over 200 complaints from US soldiers were filed with the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. The reason: They were urged to fight for God's work. The return of the Messiah was imminent. Trump was God's chosen one. A commander is said to have announced during a briefing—a military briefing, mind you, not a Sunday sermon—that President Trump had been personally chosen by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to bring about Armageddon.

Armageddon. As a stated goal. In a situation briefing.

Deus Vult 2.0: When nuclear weapons meet Bible verses

Pete Hegseth: The Christian Warrior with Access to Nuclear Power
Defense Minister Pete Hegseth – or "War Minister," as he prefers to call himself – is no minor figure. He is the civilian head of the most powerful military apparatus on earth. And he wears the Jerusalem Cross of the medieval Crusaders on his chest. On his bicep: "Deus Vult" – God wills it. The battle cry with which Christian knights massacred Muslim cities in the 11th century. On his arm: "Kafir" – Arabic for infidel.

This is not private piety. This is a political statement, branded in ink on the body of a man who decides on the deployment of armed forces. Hegseth described the struggle of conservative Americans in his book as a holy war. He views the Iran conflict in the same terms. He announces a resolute, devastating victory without mercy. Without mercy. Against a country of 90 million people.

Kant defined enlightenment as humanity's emergence from its self-imposed immaturity. What we are witnessing here is a self-imposed return to it – with better equipment.

Mike Huckabee and Biblical Greater Israel
The US ambassador to Israel is Mike Huckabee, a Christian Zionist who, in an interview with Tucker Carlson, suggested that Israel has a biblical right to large parts of the Middle East—not just from the Mediterranean to the Jordan River, but from the Euphrates to the Nile. From the Euphrates to the Nile. That's not foreign policy. That's the Old Testament as a map.

For Huckabee, the Bible takes precedence over international law. That would be his right in a private context. But as the official representative of a nuclear power vis-à-vis an active participant in a war, it represents a civilizational regression of historic proportions.

The religious extremists in the Israeli government – who not only lay claim to the West Bank and Gaza, but also have their sights set on southern Lebanon and parts of Syria – are not outsiders. They are coalition partners. They sit at the table where decisions are made.

Netanyahu, Amalek, and the mission of annihilation
In the context of the Iran war, Benjamin Netanyahu invoked the myth of Amalek – that Old Testament people who, according to biblical law, were commanded to be completely annihilated. Root and branch. Memory erased.

This is not a historical reference. This is a framing device. Whoever defines the enemy as Amalek simultaneously defines the appropriate response – one for which there is no category in international law because it predates international law by millennia.

Applied to Iran, this means framing 90 million people as a biblical archenemy whose annihilation is a divine command. This is the frame of reference of the prime minister of a country whose defense is considered a matter of German national interest.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque as a false flag fantasy
And then there's the scenario Tucker Carlson drew attention to—a speech by Rabbi Yosef Mizrahi that sounds like a pre-written war script: The Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam, could be destroyed by a missile attack and blamed on Iran. The Arab world would be shocked and enraged. The anger would fall on Tehran. Under the pretext of the Iranian threat, the Arab states would ally themselves with Israel and the US. And on the ruins of the mosque, the Third Temple would rise—a prerequisite for Armageddon and the return of the Messiah.

Experts now consider this scenario realistic. Not as a fantasy. As an operational possibility.

Europe and the duty to refuse
Herein lies the real outrage for any European citizen with a vestige of enlightenment: The same societies that condemn Islamic theocracies as archaic, brand religious laws as medieval, and celebrate secular democracy as a civilizational achievement, are now supposed to sacrifice sons and daughters for a war that its commanders understand as a divine crusade to bring about the apocalypse.

Deus Vult – God wills it.

That was the battle cry of the First Crusade in 1096. Hundreds of thousands died then. This time, the Crusaders have nuclear weapons.

Europe should refuse to participate in this madness. Not out of cowardice. Out of reason. Out of that Enlightenment legacy which is the only foundation on which a free society can stand.

Kant or Armageddon. The choice is as clear as it is absurd…

Dravan flag NEW square 300 2"Dravens Tales from the Crypt" has been enchanting for over 15 years with a tasteless mixture of humor, serious journalism - for current events and unbalanced reporting in the press politics - and zombies, garnished with lots of art, entertainment and punk rock. Draven has turned his hobby into a popular brand that cannot be classified.

My blog was never designed to spread news, let alone get political, but with current affairs I just can't help but capture information here that is otherwise censored on all other channels. I am aware that the design page may not seem "serious" to many in this regard, but I will not change this to please the "mainstream". Anyone who is open to non-state-compliant information sees the content and not the packaging. I've tried enough to provide people with information over the last 2 years, but quickly noticed that it never matters how it's "packaged", but what the other person's attitude towards it is. I don't want to put honey on anyone's mouth to meet expectations in any way, so I'll keep this design because hopefully at some point I'll be able to stop making these political statements, because it's not my goal to go on like this forever ;) I leave it up to everyone how they deal with it. However, you are welcome to simply copy and distribute the content, my blog has always been under the WTFPL license.

It's hard for me to describe what I'm actually doing here, DravensTales has become a culture blog, music blog, shock blog, tech blog, horror blog, fun blog, a blog about found items on the internet, internet bizarre, trash blog, art blog, water heater, zeitgeist blog over the years , Scrap blog and grab bag blog called.
