The AfD as the savior of Western civilization – the desperate middle class believes this so fervently that one might think wishful thinking has become a state-approved inoculation against reality. But the script has long been written, the roles assigned, and the loyal voters play their supporting parts with a devotion that one could almost admire – if it weren't for the catastrophic consequences.
Anyone who opens their eyes and seriously wonders why the AfD is being "fought" with such media fervor, why public prosecutors are scrambling, domestic intelligence agencies are sounding the alarm, and talk show hosts are collectively hyperventilating – will eventually understand the mechanism behind this charade. The population is being driven precisely where the authorities want it to be. The hunt is the advertising. The pressure of persecution is the endorsement.
Systems eliminate what they cannot control
In East Germany, people had no say – and structurally, little has changed. Back then, the results were predetermined. The same is true today. It's no coincidence that the "projections" – published minutes after the polling stations closed – almost perfectly match the pre-released polls. Staged neck-and-neck races and "particularly close results" exist solely to secure the emotional connection with the theater audience. Suspense is the name of the game. Democracy is mere scenery. Voting is a pacifying ritual.
Anyone who poses a genuine threat within this system is eliminated – legally, through the media, institutionally, and, if necessary, personally. But the AfD is allowed to exist, to grow, to become the strongest force in the country. This isn't a failure of the system. This is the system. A party that seriously stood in the way of the interests of those in power would have been history long ago – sidelined, banned, marginalized. Instead: parliamentary group in the Bundestag, state governments, polling king. A controlled opposition isn't really an opposition at all. It's a safety valve – and the pressure it's allowed is precisely as great as necessary.
The excuse is already waiting in the refrigerator.
As soon as the AfD assumes governmental responsibility – and that is the plan – the apology will be on the table even before the first minister is sworn in. "Our predecessors have so mismanaged the country... the situation is unfortunately much worse than we thought... we cannot immediately fulfill our promises..." The text is as predictable as a Bild headline on a Monday morning and has already been served up countless times – by governments all over the world that set out to "change everything" while quietly and obediently continuing the same practices as their predecessors.
2029 is being touted as the year of Germany's national bankruptcy – no secret, publicly communicated, written down in documents that nobody reads. The AfD takes over the mess with a grand presentation, calls it the "legacy of the established parties," and is allowed to peddle it for years. The voter, who finally believes they've chosen the right people, has to wait another four years – and then be told why it couldn't work out again.
Deafness as a political statement
The AfD supporter is as receptive to rational objections as a bunker is to a light drizzle. Legitimate questions, historical comparisons, structural arguments – all bounce off. The emotional investment is too great, the perceived lack of alternatives too seductive. They've elected their team, and anyone who criticizes that team is either "bought by the system," "a leftist," or simply "one of them." Anyone who might entertain the idea that their favorite party fulfills the very function they believe they are fighting against would simply be ignored or considered an enemy. Circular reasoning as a worldview, tunnel vision as a defining characteristic.
A genuine uprising, a real counter-movement – unthinkable in this scenario. Those who take to the streets are party loyalists, NGO mercenaries, state-funded Antifa groups, and ideologically hardened counter-protesters who stifle any real resistance before it can even take shape. The safety valve is permanently installed. The pressure is released in a controlled manner so that the pressure cooker never actually explodes – and the illusion of freedom of movement is maintained.
The last war already has a director
This is where things get serious. More serious than most people want to admit. It will be the AfD that leads a once again completely deluded remnant of the German people into what is likely their last war. Not despite their "patriotic" rhetoric, but precisely because of it. A people who believe they finally have the right people in power follow more readily than one who knows they are being lied to. Blind allegiance is more useful than enforced obedience – this has been known for centuries, and those in positions of power orchestrating this charade know it very well.
Germany is not needed as an ally. It is needed as a tool. Tools don't need their own agenda – they only need the feeling of having one.
Once the AfD assumes governmental responsibility and the country is thrown into turmoil, the 68 generation will seem like child's play in comparison. All the pieces of the puzzle will become visible—too late for most. Those who saw it earlier will long since be relegated to the archives of conspiracy theorists, somewhere between Reichsbürger and Querdenker, in the meticulously maintained files of public broadcasting. A label that now bestows more credibility than it diminishes.
There might still be one last chance to turn things around. Maybe. But chances only interest those who recognize the situation for what it is: an orchestrated, scripted collapse in which every character knows their cue—except the audience. Meanwhile, the audience applauds enthusiastically because someone told them that's democracy. And when the house is on fire, they'll still be debating whether the fire was started by the right or the left.
And when the final act is over, the loyal voters will still be standing amidst the ruins, declaring that they simply should have given the whole thing more time!
