It's November, the weather is miserable, moods are low – and somewhere between Wall Street and the WHO, the pandemic is back in full swing. People are left out in the rain, bankers are panicking, and the World Health Organization is in a meeting-filled mood – everything is going according to plan.
The first hint of the next global state of emergency didn't come from a virologist, but from the financial markets. An inconspicuous indicator, hardly known to anyone, sounded the alarm on Friday: Banks suddenly had to borrow over $30 billion in fresh money from the Federal Reserve. And that's not something you do when everything is running smoothly. Such a thing only happens when trust in the system disappears – or when someone knows something that the rest of the system isn't supposed to know yet.
The last time this alarm was triggered was at the end of February 2020. A week later, the WHO officially declared a pandemic. Coincidence? Of course. Just like the coincidence that certain banks had already secured liquidity beforehand. Clairvoyants? More likely insiders with a good nose for things – or very good connections.
And while the flow of money falters again in Wall Street-style bursts, the next WHO committee is meeting in Geneva to prepare for the coming "health crisis." The Intergovernmental Working Group is negotiating the new Pathogen Access and Benefit-Sharing System—a global system for the "fair sharing" of pathogens. It sounds like philanthropy, but reeks of global management of biological assets.
The idea: If a virus emerges somewhere, it will no longer be investigated nationally, but managed centrally – by the WHO. A "benefit-sharing system," then, in which pathogens become commodities. Sharing is done to profit. Humans become suppliers, the pathogens become portfolio assets.
At the same time, CEPI – the vaccine alliance from Gates – is drumming up support and announcing: "The Big One is coming." This sounds less like research and more like a trailer for a Netflix dystopia. It's about "all-in-one gene therapies" – vaccines that are supposed to cover multiple variants at once. Or, in other words: one injection, always up-to-date.
Is it all just a coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not. In any case, there's a certain... synchronicity between the financial crisis, the WHO conference, and pandemic preparations.
Because if one thing is certain in these times: The next pandemic is coming…
