Finally! Federal Councilor Martin Pfister finally had to sheepishly admit what everyone has known for years: the DDPS is not a ministry, but a state-funded pigsty with ankle-deep straw. But instead of finally wielding the pitchforks themselves, an army of external consultants is now being flown in – starting in 2026, they will be allowed to oversee the 17 "top projects." In other words: We taxpayers will soon be paying not only for the chaos, but also for the claque who manage it.
Of course, consultants in the Federal Department of Defense – that's as new as mold in a basement. Just think back to the F-35 procurement disaster: Back then, her bungling predecessor, Viola "Back to the Stove," brought in the Zurich law firm Homburger. A firm that knows about as much about fighter jets as a butcher knows about vegan cuisine. But the windfall for the lawyers was plentiful – the result? Zero. Nothing. Nothing but beautifully formatted PowerPoint slides that cost taxpayers millions.
And now for a new take: Objectivity is the consultants' great advantage, so the federal government says. Yes, of course. As objective as a wolf observing a sheep at lunch "impartially." Because, surprise, consultants have their own interests – and they coincide about as much with those of the public as a bank account in the Cayman Islands coincides with transparency.
The truth is: No one can solve this eternal "pig-hat, pig-lid" game. Because no one wants to solve it. Why should they? For the consultants, the VBS is a cash cow that can be milked in constant operation. For the politicians, it's the perfect excuse: If things go wrong again, it was ultimately "the external expertise" that failed. Responsibility? Please move on; there's nothing to see here.
And what's left for us taxpayers? That's right: the bill. As always. Because one thing is as certain as the next federal data breach: It's going to be expensive. Really expensive.
So, in the end, we have a Ministry of Defense that seeks outside advice because it can't get anything done internally. Consultants who line their pockets while cultivating their old networks. And politicians who act as if they have everything under control – until the next debacle comes to light.
This doesn't just smack of cronyism—it stinks of corruption. But in Switzerland, they euphemistically call it "tradition."

"Dravens Tales from the Crypt" has been enchanting for over 15 years with a tasteless mixture of humor, serious journalism - for current events and unbalanced reporting in the press politics - and zombies, garnished with lots of art, entertainment and punk rock. Draven has turned his hobby into a popular brand that cannot be classified.
My blog was never designed to spread news, let alone get political, but with current affairs I just can't help but capture information here that is otherwise censored on all other channels. I am aware that the design page may not seem "serious" to many in this regard, but I will not change this to please the "mainstream". Anyone who is open to non-state-compliant information sees the content and not the packaging. I've tried enough to provide people with information over the last 2 years, but quickly noticed that it never matters how it's "packaged", but what the other person's attitude towards it is. I don't want to put honey on anyone's mouth to meet expectations in any way, so I'll keep this design because hopefully at some point I'll be able to stop making these political statements, because it's not my goal to go on like this forever
