The good news first: You no longer need to worry about your cash. It will soon be gone. The bad news: What comes next is called CBDC – programmable central bank money with an expiration date, a built-in code of conduct, and iris scanners for access control. Ernst Wolff, one of the few economists not on the payroll of the institutions he criticizes, paints a picture of financial control that makes Orwell's "1984" look like a children's book.

While gold reaches new all-time highs, central banks dump US Treasury bonds, and heavyweights like Ray Dalio proclaim the end of the bond era, preparations are underway behind the scenes, of which roughly 98% of the population remains unaware. The course is now being set for a future without cash, without privacy, and with ubiquitous surveillance – quietly, systematically, and with a friendly smile.

The triggering event
The path to digital currency control doesn't lead through democratic votes or parliamentary debates, but through a useful shock. Wolff outlines the scenario precisely: A massive cyberattack cripples the banking system, accounts are "destroyed," and the state offers a helping hand—naturally, in the form of a CBDC. Cash would then be completely eradicated within four to six months. No theatrics, no resistance, no alternative. You just have to scare people enough, and they'll use the cage lock as a shield.

Meanwhile, infrastructure expansion continues: On July 15, AMLA, an EU agency with around 400 employees tasked with monitoring all financial flows, was established in Frankfurt. The ECB is preparing for the rollout of the digital euro. Digital IDs are slated to become mandatory in Germany from 2026. Three puzzle pieces, one picture – and this picture doesn't depict a free citizen.

BlackRock has the floor
Anyone who thinks governments still make these decisions themselves is in for a rude awakening. Wolff is unequivocal on this point: The digital-financial complex – the combination of large asset managers like BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street, and the major digital corporations – is more powerful today than all the world's nations combined. BlackRock is not only the world's largest asset manager, but also the main shareholder of virtually all major digital corporations and defense contractors.

Friedrich Merz, who presents himself as a potential CDU chancellor, was chairman of the supervisory board of BlackRock Germany. Donald Trump invited the CEOs of Microsoft, Apple, Meta, and others to dinner at the White House—Bill Gates was present, as was Mark Zuckerberg. These are the true power brokers of our time, and the politicians who implement their agenda then call it a "democratic decision" or "without alternative."

The digital ID: Entry into digital terror
The most innocuous framing sounds like this: "Your ID will just go digital, how convenient." The reality is different. The digital ID is the key element that combines CBDC wallet, health data, driver's license, pension entitlements, tax data, and social credit history into a single profile. Anyone wanting to access their money must identify themselves via iris scan or facial recognition as the person to whom the wallet is assigned.

Wolff calls it what it is: Only the well-behaved citizen, the one who has no debts, pays their taxes, and hasn't violated the social credit system, can access their money. The rest? They're left staring at a blank screen. There has never been a greater form of enslavement through money in all of history – this isn't polemics, it's a technical description of the system.

Merz and the data protection discount
To understand how far the dismantling of data protection has already progressed, one statement by Merz suffices: He publicly proposed granting citizens a discount on health insurance if they had all their health data stored on a single card. In Germany, too much is said about data protection and too little about data use. This is not a slip of the tongue – it's a deliberate strategy.

The fact that Ukraine and Israel are considered prime examples of digitalization – both at war, both with virtually abolished data protection – should give even the most optimistic person pause. War, according to Wolff, is the most efficient engine of digitalization: no one opposes the surveillance state when they are fighting for their survival.

Silver as silent resistance
Those who don't want to fall into the CBDC trap need alternatives. Wolff is betting on physical silver as the everyday currency of a potential parallel society. The Saudi Arabian National Bank has invested in a large silver ETF, Russia is expanding its physical reserves, and there has been a structural silver deficit since 2011 – new mines take up to 15 years to produce significant quantities. The market is tighter than it appears.

Wolff anticipates significantly higher gold prices, not because gold is becoming more valuable, but because all currencies continue to depreciate. The monetization of US gold reserves—with target prices between $8000 and $20,000 per ounce under discussion—has moved from a thought experiment to a scenario under consideration. And when the public realizes that paper gold in the system is being sold 220 to 500 times more frequently than the physical gold it exists in, prices won't rise gradually, but will explode overnight.

The infrastructure is in place, the laws are prepared, and the "architects of the system" have already begun converting their own money into gold – because they know what's coming! They call it "modernizing the payment system," which means you'll never be able to pay for a coffee anonymously again! The digital ID isn't an ID card; it's the leash, and the CBDC is the collar! Anyone who still believes a social credit system is a Chinese specialty will have to explain in a few years why they thought Brussels was different!

Draven has turned his hobby into a popular brand that cannot be classified.

My blog was never designed to spread news, let alone get political, but with current affairs I just can't help but capture information here that is otherwise censored on all other channels. I am aware that the design page may not seem "serious" to many in this regard, but I will not change this to please the "mainstream". Anyone who is open to non-state-compliant information sees the content and not the packaging. I've tried enough to provide people with information over the last 2 years, but quickly noticed that it never matters how it's "packaged", but what the other person's attitude towards it is. I don't want to put honey on anyone's mouth to meet expectations in any way, so I'll keep this design because hopefully at some point I'll be able to stop making these political statements, because it's not my goal to go on like this forever ;) I leave it up to everyone how they deal with it.
