Troll factories go one step further. The professional trolls earn their money with it, sometimes even directly from the state. They seek less a personal conflict than try to influence the entire narrative of a discussion. Large amounts of metered comments create the perception that a large part of the community shares this opinion. The comments from other members of the network are also pushed through likes. On the one hand, this is intended to provoke the other side to emotional and thus often unfounded reactions, but above all to convince part of the community of the mood created. It targets the herd instinct that sees the dominant opinion rather than the truth. So it's about deliberate manipulation of public opinion.
