One of the most iconic songs of the 20th century is definitely Lynyrd Skynyrd's song "Free Bird" with its profound lyrics, but above all it set a monument with the ingenious guitar solo by guitarist Allen Collins. World-class musician Collins played the entire solo on his Gibson Explorer, accompanied by guitarist Gary Rossington, who took over the rhythm parts on his Les Paul and the slider parts on his Gibson SG. The isolated audio from the original Free Bird recording session shows us that Collins played the solo as it was meant to and for the first time we really got to hear the intricacies of what was nominated for the 3rd Greatest Guitar Solo in the World
