Friends, the legendary «Burning Man» festival is scheduled to take place in Europe for the first time in summer 2017! "Burning Man" is probably the biggest, most mythical and craziest festival in the world. Founded in San Francisco in 1986 by Larry Harvey and Jerry James, the festival has been held in Black Rock City, Nevada since 1990. Most recently, the festival attracted 70 people who spent a week building an autonomous city in the desert – often plagued by sandstorms – that, with its self-built vehicles, sculptures and housing, is reminiscent of a scene from Mad Max. It's the most beautiful dystopia imaginable. For a whole eight days, people from all over the world celebrate art, music and themselves there. The motto of the Dutch version should be "Where The Sheep Sleep" (Where the sheep sleep) and is in no way inferior to the US version...
From 29th to 31st July 2017 you can immerse yourself in this enchanting world of enchanted forests, natural fields and rivers in the Dutch Veluwe, almost 80 km from Amsterdam and 70 km from the German border. The fact that the festival will take place there next year became known when the organizers of the "Burning Man" festival in Nevada bought 3600 hectares of land in the desert to expand the festival. You can get a first impression of the area in the photo above. For more information about the festival, just have a look at the Burning Man Facebook Page .
