After I from Tom (thank you again ) Attention was drawn to how badly slow the page loading on my blog was, I cleaned up some WordPress plugins and optimized a lot more so that I could reduce the loading times strikingly. In the course of this I also decided to turn my back on Google Analytics.
For a very long time I have been looking for a suitable alternative and have finally, finally found the best one for me. Is called Piwik and can under http://piwik.org/ downloaded.
What advantages does Piwik have over Google Analytics?
- Look and feel of Google Analytics, so that the switch is quite easy
- intended for PHP + HTML websites
- freely configurable like the internal area of WordPress 2.7
- all data remains on its own server and does not end up somewhere in Timbuktu
- can be integrated into an existing DB of WordPress (settings / websites)
- an installation for several domains possible
- only requires little programming knowledge, so also suitable for beginners
- Users can be created with different rights
- Other statistical tools are no longer required, such as Analytics, Blogstats or Semmelstatz
- Web 2.0 appearance
- very easy installation in 5 minutes
- does not load the server
- German language
- Plugins
- Widgets
- Dashboard
- Open Source
Piwik is kept very simple and anyone who was able to install WordPress will laugh at the Piwik installation. After a successful installation you get a snippet of code, because you have to enter it into your website and then Piwik starts rattling. It is best to incorporate the WordPress code into footer.php and replace any existing Google Analytics code. Load footer.php onto the server and it will be recorded. The following statistics can be integrated into a website at any time using the directly output iFrame code; the following comes from the Piwik online demo. An excellent tool!
Great thing ...
* note *
Unfortunately, my number of visitors has halved since the domain change.
Somehow Google didn't find that so funny ...
Well, with something like that, Google is resentful for a moment, but you should have done that by now. Didn't you have a diversion?
And SEO experiments are fun
yes, but just ... accidentally locked out everything and everyone using the Robots.txt ..
which was not particularly beneficial either ...
and the other domain was just a lot older and better networked ...
Many of the links and blogroll entries are still on the old domain ...
That's why I keep paying them
I hope that I will make a jump at the next big google review update, now that I am back in the google index
Isn't it very difficult to hope. Cross your fingers and wish you a lot of pig! Well, such a change of domain is not carried out overnight ...
Loading your page was a spiritually meditative experience
is that your traffic up there?
Hihihi, yes, you could almost join in zen chants and get started with mantra and paramita practice
And no, are the numbers from the Piwik demo site, although at the end of last week I had around 2800 hits because of an old article ...
Holly Molly .. in one day ??????
Wow ...
Jo, just knocked me out of my socks. Was about one Seagal trailer, which had a total of 5297 visitors since about Thursday noon, that is, shot from zero to the most-read article in the charts and attracted a little over 2800 visitors on Friday alone ... 8O
It had something to do with the fact that I was on Google with the article Place 5 bin Similar to Knackarsch
oh yes .. now it is much more fun to stay in the crypt, your page is lightning fast again
Thank you very much, I'll be right, it's twice as much fun to work on the blog. The loading times were really, well, let's say a little bit very bitter ...
I thank you again for your feedback and I am even more pleased that the loading times have not only decreased subjectively
You are welcome…
and as you have probably noticed, I also use the tool
Precisely because it is quick and easy
Oh you too No, didn't look at your code, was too busy with mine I've been looking for a smart replacement for ages and it's just awesome
