The working title of the Norwegian horror production was initially "Dead Snow 2: War of the Dead". However, at the world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 19, 2014, the film was retitled "Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead". Filming for the Nazi horror sequel started in Iceland in April 2013 and the film was shot in two different versions: Norwegian and English. Tommy Wirkola, who directed the first part "Dead Snow", will also direct the sequel. Wirkola became known to a larger audience at the latest through his US production "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters". He also developed the screenplay together with his companions Stig Frode Henriksen and Vegar Hoel (both also act as actors in the film).
The second part shows us the only survivor of the zombie attack of the first film. Together with a professional American zombie killer gang, the Zombie Squad, Martin (Vegar Hoel) is now fighting against an even larger army of undead Nazi soldiers. Because Martin wants revenge for his dead friends and this time it can't really get any worse than his previous experiences. At least he hopes so. But in his case that was just the beginning of all evil ...
