As it became known, Facebook should be in the near future various innovations are incorporated, among other things, the own profile will be completely changed and transformed into a chronicle. In the picture below you can see what the timeline looks like on Draven's profile. If you would like to use the new function and don't want to wait until Facebook officially changes its profile, you can activate the chronicle in developer mode with the following instructions:
- First, the developer mode must be activated in Facebook. To do this, type “developer” in the Facebook search field. The first result of the same name is correct, it is an application that currently has almost a million users. Alternatively, click on this facebook link. You then select the developer application and allow it to access your own profile.
- Now create a new app (top right). After you have freely chosen a name and namespace (for the latter, special characters are to be avoided, among other things), you agree to the “Platform Privacy Policy” by checking the box and clicking on Next.
- The name of the app should now be at the top of the page. There are five items on the left: Settings, Open Graph, Roles, Credits and Insights. You choose the second one, i.e. Open Graph.
- The first item in the Open Graph menu on the left is "Getting started", click on it.
- Two fields appear in the middle of the window that must be filled in, defining an action and an object. For example, we chose “read” as the action and “website” as the object.
- The following settings (three pages) can be read through and changed, but this is not necessary. After all settings have been confirmed, you are done, the timeline is ready.
- You finally go back to the Facebook home page, where you are already greeted by an info field for the chronicle. If you click on "Use now" you will land directly in the timeline. Alternatively, you can access the new view by clicking on the new field with your own name at the top right. Incidentally, you can only see your own timeline or that of other developers.
Caution: If you change computers and log into Facebook from another PC, you will deactivate the timeline on all devices. You can get the timeline settings back by entering the following URL: www.facebook.com/USERNAME?sk=timeline.
I don't have to have that, but I'm still very excited to see how Facebook will implement all of its plans in the future. I see a copyright hit storm approaching the company and I don't want to miss it for anything in the world.
