Many fans of the TV series «The Walking Dead» are already eagerly awaiting the launch of the spin-off/companion series «Fear The Walking Dead». Filming is still underway, which on the one hand takes place long before «The Walking Dead» and on the other follows a completely independent storyline and will therefore not be based on Robert Kirkman's comics. “Fear The Walking Dead” is set in Los Angeles, California. How the completely different climate and the changed conditions affect the character and what the biggest difference to the parent series "The Walking Dead" is, here in the crypt we bring some light into the darkness, show you some photos and the first teaser, which shows Madison's son Nick in danger!

Fear The Walking Dead

But why this rather uncreative-looking title for the spin-off? The aim of this title is to bring the focus back to the walkers - and that could have been worse, as Robert Kirkman explains: "I mean, you probably don't want us to either Call it 'The Walking Dead : Los Angeles', right? That would be far too easy, far too obvious. And it would be absolutely the wrong idea in relation to what we actually want to do." In fact, in his opinion, FTWD should primarily be about the walkers, while the parent series "The Walking Dead" is increasingly concentrating on (inter)human conflicts. "This title means a lot to me," Kirkman said. "He takes us back to a time when the 'walking dead' were far more dangerous and more of a daily threat." The focus in the companion series seems quite logical, since after all, at the beginning of the apocalypse, the survivors hardly knew how to deal with the walkers, let alone the threat they posed.

Fear The Walking Dead

But what can we expect in «Fear The Walking Dead? What is the specific difference between this new series and TWD? The Walkers will look significantly different in FTWD than in the parent series, makeup specialist Greg Nicotero comments: "I think that's kind of part of the plan. ‹Fear The Walking Dead› will take place before our series even begins. One of the key things we're going to play with on this show is the environment and how it affects walkers. It's pretty humid and muggy in Georgia, so we take that into account when it comes to walkers. Los Angeles, on the other hand, has a much drier climate, so we've had discussions there about how that might affect the Walker's appearance." But not only the appearance of the Walker will differ from the main series, the focus is also completely different: "The spin-off is really about the family," explained Greg Nicotero. “In 'The Walking Dead' we meet these people who are somehow all a ragtag group of survivors. They have already lost many people on their way - but they have found each other. The biggest difference with ‹Fear The Walking Dead› is that at the beginning we are traveling with families. This is of course an important emotional aspect, especially when it comes to keeping an eye on your own children to protect them.

FTWD stars Cliff Curtis as teacher Sean Cabrera, Kim Dickens as guidance counselor Nancy Tompkins, Frank Dillane as Nancy's son Nick Tompkins, Alycia Debnam Carey as Nancy's daughter Ashley Tompkins. Elizabeth Rodriguez and Mercedes Masohn are also part of the cast, and according to the original information about the spin-off, there is at least one central female role that has not yet been filled: that of Andrea, Sean Cabrera's ex-wife, which probably belongs to one of the two should be played. "At its core, it's a story about Travis and Madison, who are two teachers who have children from previous marriages and are very much in love," Kirkman said. "They love and respect each other. They are a happy couple, which is something you don't see very often on cable TV these days." Instead of going into love triangles, divorces or jealousy dramas, Kirkman wants to tell the story of a couple who stick together as the world is rocked by the zombie apocalypse. At least it sounds like we don't have to worry that there's a similar Rick/Lori/Shane drama in «Fear the Walking Dead». The jealousy storyline was criticized at the time by many fans who were more interested in the apocalypse than a love triangle. It seems that this mistake is no longer made with «Fear the Walking Dead».

In terms of time, "Fear The Walking Dead" begins much earlier than the parent series, namely at the very beginning of the spread of the virus - a time that was completely omitted in "The Walking Dead" by Rick's coma. As showrunner Dave Erickson recently explained in an interview with TVLine, clear rules have been set for the coexistence of the two series, with the whole team making sure that there are no logic errors or misunderstandings in "Fear The Walking Dead". with regard to the parent series. TWD guru Robert Kirkman has now revealed to what extent the new series can also help to understand the original story:

Everything that happens in 'Fear The Walking Dead' takes place in the same universe as 'The Walking Dead'. That means that every rule we figure out and everything we see in those first few days will definitely be something that's already happened in the other series' past. The two series are thus closely intertwined in this common world, even if the series characters will not necessarily interact with each other due to the geographical distance. So everything you will see in 'Fear The Walking Dead' will fit the mythology of 'The Walking Dead' and vice versa. As you do so, you'll see the characters learn that they've all been infected in very different ways. But the rules always apply and they always remain the same. That's going to be one of the cool things about watching both series.

In the first sneak peek from Fear The Walking Dead Season 1, Episode 1, we see Madison's son Nick (played by Frank Dillane) apparently running away from something in a panic. Is this possibly already a walker or whatever the zombies are called in FTWD? But then he would have to be pretty quick on his feet compared to our undead friends in «The Walking Dead»... Or did he catch someone doing some dubious machinations in that abandoned house? So all in all, according to this clip, we seem to be diving into the fear and uncertainty that will accompany the main characters of this series in the very first episode right from the very first episode. However, fans of the undead have to be patient, because it will still be a while before the start of «Fear The Walking Dead» Season 2015 in August XNUMX...

"Dravens Tales from the Crypt" has been enchanting for over 15 years with a tasteless mixture of humor, serious journalism - for current events and unbalanced reporting in the press politics - and zombies, garnished with lots of art, entertainment and punk rock. Draven has turned his hobby into a popular brand that cannot be classified.

My blog was never designed to spread news, let alone get political, but with current affairs I just can't help but capture information here that is otherwise censored on all other channels. I am aware that the design page may not seem "serious" to many in this regard, but I will not change this to please the "mainstream". Anyone who is open to non-state-compliant information sees the content and not the packaging. I've tried enough to provide people with information over the last 2 years, but quickly noticed that it never matters how it's "packaged", but what the other person's attitude towards it is. I don't want to put honey on anyone's mouth to meet expectations in any way, so I'll keep this design because hopefully at some point I'll be able to stop making these political statements, because it's not my goal to go on like this forever ;) I leave it up to everyone how they deal with it.
