Here is the Game Review from, which you have been eagerly awaiting Lyric: As in the previous article already hinted at the event, God of War III is great! In the course of this report, I will mention individual scenes from the game, so if you want to be surprised, the short version: The game is absolutely as sharp as a hammer. Buy, play and stop reading here!
To the story:
Kratos is more pissed off than ever and wants to settle his score with Zeus. And as soon as the game starts, you can see the titans attacking Olympus. At first ridiculed by the gods, this is increasingly becoming a problem.
The introductory tracking shots are breathtaking, the graphics engine of the PS3 is certainly tickled to its limits with this game... After the introductory explanations have briefly touched on the story, you can plunge into the turmoil of battle. And the game keeps what it promises. It's true carnage, although Kratos' moves and combos are more reminiscent of a Deadly Dance than "real" combat, and the game is graphically quite explicit. While blood is not spared in the "normal" fight, the finishing moves are not for the faint-hearted. Each opponent has different ways to bless the time, sometimes more, sometimes less bad.
It should be said that you can also reduce the amount of blood and intestines, but as a splatter fan I left the settings as they were (everything on). Although the boss fights in particular are pretty intense (Poseidon for example), it never seems excessive. In other words, blood does flow, but it seems appropriate, especially since we are talking about epic battles about life and death.
The optics:
Hammer. Short and on point. The tracking shots are ready for film, and especially the light / shadow effects are simply awesome. Example: Shortly before the boss fight with Hades begins, you are standing in a completely lightless room. If you now use Cupid's bow (with flame arrow), its light falls on the walls, which consist of souls petrified in pain. What looks almost photorealistic, the PS3 doesn't even come close to jerking.
For controlling:
First a note. I was a total GoW virgin, actually I'm more of a PC gamer, so I didn't have a plan whatsoever for the controls, so I just went for it. Nevertheless, after trying it out for about 10 minutes, I managed to get the first fat combos, which was then rewarded with pompously staged effects. You can't change the camera setting, but that didn't bother me a bit, because you have all your fingers free to unfold Kratos' wrath, and so much to say, it's a lot of fun. The boss fights are challenging, but doable even as a newbie after a few tries. In order to get the key moves right, the «Grab» symbol is displayed above the opponent. And then you have to press a sequence of buttons depending on the opponent and weapon. While this sounds easy, it is quite challenging at times. Especially with Hades, I had to lower the difficulty, because after I had been dying for half an hour, I finally wanted to get on. However, I observed out of the corner of my eye how even die-hard GoW gamers needed several tries. But you have to acknowledge without envy that the game is still not monotonous. It's often a bit confusing when 10-20 opponents are beating you, but there are magic combos for something, with which you can knock out fat dmg.
There are also a number of puzzles, which are mostly not impossible, but a welcome change. Often you have to move something first, for example to block a crank, or to climb up on it. Speaking of climbing up, you will often have to hang around / climb along passages, and the controls and the flow of movements are convincing there too. It's not exactly Assassin's Creed-like course, but the climbing games fit perfectly into the course of the game.
And finally ...
As a bloody GoW beginner I gambled through a whopping 5 (!) Hours straight, because the game totally captivated me. Blood, guts, nasty opponents and awesome finishing moves are the main components of this game, along with an imho original story. The fact that the whole thing was provided with an intuitive control and a great graphics, I hereby express an absolute purchase / game recommendation. Even if you don't know the GoW series and have no plan for the story, that shouldn't prevent you from testing this game.
hello,
ok now the game is here and as a father i don't have a buy the blood game super blood away.
I just got a 10 year old who bursts into the room when the big one is playing, as you can imagine, the old one is so far away from the game that the little one just watches for longer.
-Question- how does the blood go away.
greetings papajob
I don't know ... I think there must be a different approach than patching the blood out ...
Cool thing that - I'll be there. Gods of Olympus, I'll splatter you!
