On Amazon Japan a four meter high ruff "Kuratas" is for sale. The mech presented at the end of 120 at the Wonder Festival near Tokyo can be purchased for almost 900 million yen (the equivalent of almost 000 euros). And that's a bargain, but the shipping costs shouldn't be negligible.
The 3,8 meter high and 4,5 ton heavy robot, which is powered by a diesel engine, is the dream of many anime fans and video gamers. Mech fans with a large wallet should grab it quickly, currently only one example of the four-legged ruff on wheels is offered. Manufacturer Suidobashi Heavy Industry offers a configuration wizard on its website with which the color and armament of the Mech can be adjusted, but this is only considered as an expression of interest. The Kuratas, which are planned as contract production, cannot yet be pre-ordered. It is the basic model without arms and forearms, which have to be bought separately. Among other things, a bottle thrower or two BB Gatling guns can be mounted on these, which can shoot 6000 plastic balls per minute, although the latter extension is probably not readily available to end customers. In addition, buyers have to lend a hand, some components have to be assembled after delivery. Kuratas was created in collaboration between the Japanese artist Kogoro Kurata and the robot specialist Wataru Yoshizaki. As known from anime films or video games, the mech can be manned by a person or controlled remotely via smartphone.
