The LittleBits electronic components are now available as an Avengers Hero Inventor Kit in collaboration with Marvel Entertainment. The heart of the kit is a high-tech glove that can be constructed and programmed in a variety of ways. Like Tony Stark and Shuri, you can invent cool technology gadgets yourself.
The kit contains nine bits for the interactive projects, as the components that can be combined are called. These include an acceleration sensor, a light sensor, a round LED matrix, a sound module and a Bluetooth low-energy module. The bits are held in place by magnetic connections and put together again depending on the application. There is also a matching case in the form of a cuff that can be worn on the arm or shown on an Iron-Man-inspired holder.
There is also a smartphone app with 18 prepared building instructions and the associated programming examples. Various Avengers, from Iron Man to Hulk to Wakanda's tech genius Shuri, lead through the tutorials. For example, it is important to illuminate the LED matrix depending on the current brightness. A graphical user interface makes programming easy, even for children. The code is finally transferred to the glove via the Bluetooth connection. The Avengers Hero Inventor Kit can be purchased in LittleBits shop ordered and is also available at Amazon, Otto and in the Disney stores for around 170 euros. LittleBits was founded in 2011 by the programmer and artist Ayah Bdeir to make getting started with hardware as easy as possible.
