"Game of Thrones" creator George RR Martin penned "Nightflyers" in 1980, a chilling vision of the future about eight curious scientists who want to contact extraterrestrials at any cost. This story has now been filmed as a series by Syfy and will also make it to our part of the world via Netflix in the course of the year. First of all, a new teaser trailer gets us in the mood for the dimly lit corridors of a spaceship. The 10-episode first season is set by genre specialists like Jeff Buhler (Midnight Meat Train, Pet Graveyard reboot) and Daniel Cerone on the fringes of our solar system, where a group of researchers hope to find answers to some of humanity's most pressing questions before of extinction.
But the further they advance into the unknown regions of space, the more dangerous and mysterious the events that endanger their mission and the lives of the entire crew. Tensions and doubts spread on the spaceship, everyone must try to find out who or what is responsible for the events and whether the crew can rely on each other long enough to save humanity.
