"Outcast" is a comic series by Robert Kirkman and Paul Azaceta and is due to be released as a television series next year. Kirkman celebrated great success with the hit series “The Walking Dead”, and now another comic he penned is being adapted into a series. This time, however, people don't have to suffer from a zombie plague, but supernatural phenomena such as demons make the protagonist's life hell. However, the first trailer for “Outcast” also reveals a rather desolate and deserted environment.
The series is about the young man Kyle Barns (Patrick Fugit), who has been possessed by a demon all his life. With the help of Reverend Anderson (Philip Glenister), who has to deal with his personal demons, Kyle embarks on a journey to find questions for his answers and to be able to lead a normal life without supernatural companions. But he makes a discovery that goes far beyond the fate of his own future.
Gabriel Bateman (“Stalker”) will play an eight-year-old boy from the neighborhood alongside Patrick Fugit (“Gone Girl”) and Philip Glenister (“Bel Ami”). The first episode was directed by Adam Wingard ("You're Next"), but the US broadcaster Cinemax has not yet announced a specific start date for the series, which was announced to be broadcast in 2016.
