From Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the duo behind AMC's now canceled "Preacher" series, comes "The Boys", an adaptation of the ultra-brutal comic series by Garth Ennis (Preacher) and Darick Robertson. From July 26th, we'll be watching Karl Urban (Dredd, Riddick) on Amazon Prime as part of the so-called "The Boys" as he cleans up among the Seven - these are out-of-line superheroes who use their power to... live out the dark side. But that suddenly changes when Billy Butcher (Urban) and his boys arrive on the scene, who are supposed to examine their activities and, if necessary, stop them. And as the trailer proves, some extremely drastic, bloody measures are used! In order to ensure law and order among the seven, the boys do not shy away from using weapons. How else could one master a supernaturally gifted group like this?
The film adaptation by Seth Rogen (This is the End) and Evan Goldberg has a prominent cast and features, among others, Karl Urban (Riddick, Dredd) as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid (Rampage) as Hughie and Laz Alonso as Mothers Milk. Elisabeth Shue (Piranha 3D), Jennifer Esposito, Colby Minifie, Jess Salgueiro, Brittany Allen and Bruce Novakowski also play roles in the eight-episode first season. The pilot episode was directed by the sought-after “10 Cloverfield Lane” director Dan Trachtenberg (he is supposed to bring the Uncharted film into shape for Sony). As mentioned, the first season of “The Boys” starts on July 26, 2019 on Amazon Prime.
