If "The MEG", the prehistoric megalodon from Steve Alten's bestseller, lives up to its name in terms of box office receipts, it probably won't be the last time we see the gigantic killer in the cinema. Jason Statham, who stands up to him as the leading actor, also firmly believes that the film will be a success and even thinks a successor is possible. Whether the audience is interested in seeing the prehistoric giant killer will be seen from August 30th, when “The MEG” opens in our cinemas. In the film, a deep-sea underwater vehicle that is part of an international ocean observation program is attacked by a huge creature believed to be extinct. Now the boat is unable to maneuver in the deepest trench in the Pacific - and the crew is trapped inside. When he runs out of time, a visionary Chinese oceanographer (Winston Chao), against the wishes of his daughter Suyin (Li Bingbing), hires diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham), an expert in deep-sea rescue operations. He is supposed to save the crew from an unstoppable threat: a prehistoric shark, a megalodon, that is over 25 meters tall. What no one suspects: Taylor had already encountered this fearsome creature years before. Now, alongside Suyin, he must face his fears and risk his life to save the trapped people - all while facing once again the greatest and most terrifying predator of all time.
