Now that the final Predator is also available for home video, fans are noticing certain details that weren't noticed the first time. One such detail is the reference to Jean-Claude Van Damme's original involvement in the original film. As is well known, the legendary JCVD was originally the man who was supposed to slip into the Predator creature suit as an alien hunter - but the creature design was drastically changed after those responsible realized that the creature's original design looked simply horrible. One of the suits was this knee length red suit that looked more like a giant lobster. It was bright red to contrast with the green of the jungle so visual effects could easily create the illusion effect. And this is the suit that was used on an Easter egg in The Predator, as was the cameraman Larry fong has confirmed. Incidentally, JCVD was ultimately so disappointed that he distanced himself from the project and is therefore not shown in the original ..
Nothing is easier than self-deception, because what a person wants to be true, he also thinks to be true.
