The new game "The Sinking City" by Frogwares (Sherlock Holmes series) and Bigben Interactive is supposed to be a real declaration of love to HP Lovecraft. The game interprets and develops his chilling creations: the fear of monsters and the unknown, the search for occult truth and madness. Players take on the role of a detective arriving in Oakmont, Massachusetts, a town suffering from an unprecedented supernatural flood. It's a supernatural tide that has turned Oakmont, once a thriving smuggling hub, into a decaying, dead behemoth. In the middle of it all, as private investigator Charles W. Reed, we start looking for answers because there is a mysterious case to be solved. Shortly after arriving in Oakmont, however, we too are gripped by eerie visions and painful flashbacks to our own past. The line between reality and madness is slowly blurring. Players must discover what has taken over the city and the minds of its residents. Secret societies, dangers, intrigues and monstrous creatures will stand in their way.
Whoever says: freedom rules here, lies, because freedom does not prevail.
