On VOX will be starting at 20:15 p.m. today the 1989 film "Happy Birthday" starring Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo and Juliette Lewis. I love the film, it always manages to amuse me immensely:
Clark Griswold, his wife Ellen and their two children Audrey and Rusty are looking for a suitable, large Christmas tree, which they eventually find in a forest. Since Clark forgot to bring a saw, the tree is dug up. When it is set up in the house, some panes are broken. Clark decorates the house with fairy lights made from 25.000 imported Italian light bulbs, but the attempt to turn the fairy lights on fails at first. Later the lighting is switched on randomly; The second reactor in the nuclear power plant has to be switched on, the bright light annoys a snobbish couple living in the neighborhood.
The family arrives at the Griswolds and causes some destruction. For example, Aunt Bethany's cat is barbecued by a power short circuit. Uncle Lewis accidentally lights the Christmas tree. Clark felled a replacement tree in the neighborhood, damaging his neighbors' home. A squirrel jumps at the neighbor who has come with a complaint, which Clark chases out of his house, followed by the Rottweiler of the Johnsons.
We already had today's tip as a door as part of the Advent Calendar from the Crypt here as a guest and as I said, the film is highly recommended
