What is “Woke”? An intolerant and moralizing ideology

When you turn on Netflix these days, the first thing that jumps out at you are the “woke” TV shows – banal and not worth our time. If you finally decide on a new science fiction thriller series and are captivated by the first two episodes, the Netflix producers set the trap with episode 3. This means that from this episode onwards, the rather violent but non-sexual series, which is about a time travel plot, suddenly revolves around a gay lover and a completely unnecessary male love scene that was inserted into the plot without any sense. You quickly reach for the remote control, turn off the television and go to bed. I vow to do better and find a decent program that isn't "woke." But what the hell does this term even mean?

“Woke” is an intolerant and moralizing ideology. It is often used to disparage liberal progressive orthodoxy. Although “woke” has its roots in anti-racism, it has been abused so often that it has lost any remnants of its original meaning. Woke's constant misuse has ultimately led to the word coming to represent all problematic attempts to redefine, reeducate, society to fit a very small minority's understanding of how the world should work.

Examples of «Woke»

“toxic” masculinity
A gross mischaracterization of masculinity that implies that men's (or boys') behavior is inherently toxic. This categorization would also include cases in which men are portrayed as inherently clueless or idiotic, while women are highlighted as enlightened.

Climate chaos
This ideology assumes that society has the power and duty to change the weather worldwide, back to temperatures during the Little Ice Age, a period of widespread cooling from about 1300 to about 1850 AD during this period Average global temperatures fell by up to 2°C (3,6°F), particularly in Europe and North America.

Communist love
An ideology that promotes socialism or communism in every way (but especially towards capitalism).

COVID-19 virtue signaling
The health concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic were real, but they led to a widespread sense of misguided virtue. People acted virtuously by wearing masks and receiving inadequately tested vaccinations that were falsely labeled “vaccines.” Access to and acceptance of adequately tested medical alternatives to vaccinations have been denied and ridiculed. There was only one “rescue” from the pandemic for them and that was gene therapy, the so-called vaccination.

Distorted racism
The implication that racism can only be reserved for one group or suggests that there are systems (laws) that restrict people based on their ethnicity, the nickname «Woke» is applicable, since there are no such laws (at least in Europe and the USA).

Flawed feminism
Although “feminism” was originally founded as a goal to ensure equal rights, it has evolved into a political movement that is no longer a protest against unjust laws or sexist institutions, but rather revolves around the enforcement of unequal rights. The ideology is based on ideas of inequality that do not exist and generally ignores femininity as a whole. The ideology promotes a concept where women are supposed to be superior to men.

Guns as villains
The idea that a gun is responsible for a person's death and not the person who uses it.

Inclusion leniency
Inclusive permissiveness occurs when an organization hires employees based on blatant scaremongering of a marginalized (or more commonly perceived to be marginalized) group, but the inclusion seems forced and an afterthought. When this happens, the «Woke» label is appropriately applied.

Infinite genders
Normalizing an ideology that holds that more than two genders exist and that it is the duty of the state to facilitate and pay for treatments and surgeries to enable this ideology.

Normalized killing
Normalizing an ideology that strategically causes people to sympathize with or normalize the issue of abortion or assisted suicide.

Pride and trans rights
The exaggeration of LGBTQ marginalization in society that must be remedied through month-long Pride celebrations, parades, special hiring practices, and teaching these issues in our public school systems.

Racist expectations
The “racism of low and high expectations” is particularly problematic because it is viewed by some as virtuous. This form of racism assumes that a group of people are either LESS or MORE capable of doing something because of the color of their skin. Examples include (but are not limited to): Obtaining an ID card. Map, correct driving, good grades, etc. Shows that show such racist advances are considered “woke”.

Sexualization of children
The term “woke” applies when children are portrayed in a sexual manner. This also applies in classrooms or libraries.

The great reset
Using the flawed concept of climate change and the politics of the pandemic to promote social change that promotes globalism, a global planned economy and a loss of national sovereignty.

Anti-religious bias
Woke religious bias is typically presented in one of four ways:

1. Turning religion on its head to imply that good is evil and evil is good
2. Religion is mere spirituality or mysticism
3. Religious people are all mean and hateful
4. Mocking religious people/God
