Nowadays, if you talk about the healing properties of plants or other holistic practices, you'll be looked at like a weirdo. As with everything else, politics and money have been used to distort people's minds and encourage them to accept what is bad for them. It all started with John D. Rockefeller (1839 – 1937), who was an oil tycoon, a robber baron, America's first billionaire and a born monopolist. At the turn of the 20th century, he controlled 90% of all oil refineries in the United States through his oil company Standard Oil, which was later divided into Chevron, Exxon, Mobil, etc.
World affairs reports: At the same time, around 1900, scientists discovered "petrochemistry" and the possibility of producing all kinds of chemicals from oil. For example, in 1907 the first plastic was made - Bakelite called – made from oil. Scientists discovered various vitamins and suspected that many medicines could be made from oil. This was a wonderful opportunity for Rockefeller, who saw the opportunity to monopolize the oil, chemical and medical industries at the same time!
The best thing about petrochemicals was that everything could be patented and sold at a high profit. But there was a problem with Rockefeller's plan for the medical industry: natural/herbal medicines were very popular in America at the time. Nearly half of the physicians and medical schools in the United States practiced holistic medicine, drawing on knowledge from Europe and Native Americans.
Rockefeller, the monopolist, had to find a way to get rid of his biggest competition. So he applied the classic “problem-reaction-solution” strategy. That is, he created a problem and frightened people, then offered a (pre-planned) solution. (Similar to the fear of terrorism, followed by the “Patriot Act”). He turned to his buddy Andrew Carnegie - another plutocrat who made his money from the Monopolization of the steel industry deserved - who came up with a plan. From the prestigious Carnegie Foundation, they sent a man named Abraham Flexner on a tour of the country to report on the state of medical schools and hospitals across the country.
The result was this Flexner report, who founded modern medicine as we know it. Of course, the report also addressed the need to redesign and centralize our medical facilities. Based on this report, more than half of all medical schools soon closed. Homeopathy and naturopathy were ridiculed and demonized and doctors were even put in prison. To ease the transition and change the minds of other doctors and scientists, Rockefeller donated more than $100 million to colleges and hospitals and founded a philanthropic front organization called the General Education Board (GEB). This is the classic carrot and stick approach.
In a very short period of time, all medical colleges were rationalized and homogenized. All students learned the same thing and medicine was all about the use of patented drugs. Scientists received huge grants to study how plants cure diseases, but their goal was to first figure out which chemicals in the plant were effective and then create a similar—but not identical—chemical in the laboratory that could be patented. One pill for one disease became the mantra of modern medicine.
And you thought the Koch brothers were evil? And now, 100 years later, we are producing doctors who know nothing about the benefits of nutrition, herbs, or other holistic practices. We have an entire society that is enslaved by corporations for its well-being. America spends 15% of its GDP on health care, which should really be called “health care.” She does not focus on healing, but only on treating symptoms, thereby creating repeat customers. There is no cure for cancer, diabetes, autism, asthma or even the flu. So why should there be real cures? This is a system founded by oligarchs and plutocrats, not doctors. As for cancer, that was American Cancer Society Founded in 1913 by none other than Rockefeller.
