In the nerve-racking survival thriller "Abriss" (Break) we are faced with a freezing and claustrophobic nightmare at truly dizzying heights. Because you don't always need expansive, crooked sets to create high excitement. Sometimes the very limited space of a gondola swaying in the wind and hovering several hundred meters above the frozen ground is sufficient.
On November 29th, the release on Blu-ray and DVD as well as digitally, we experience a frosty winter adventure of a different kind. The Russian horror film moves the well-known scenario from Adam Green's "Frozen" to a gondola that is several 100 meters above stuck in the frozen ground. This is of course not empty, but has three men and two women on board who want to have fun on New Year's Eve on the top of a mountain. But then the accident happens, the gondola suddenly stops during the journey and locks her in the freezing cold with no possibility of escape. Fear of death quickly spreads among them, because the height, the snow and the slowly increasing panic take their toll. “Break”, directed and conceived by newcomer Tigran Saakyan, had its Russian cinema premiere at the beginning of the year. Now the survival thriller starring Irina Antonenko, Andrey Nazimov and Ingrid Olerinskaya is making it onto our shelves...
