«Cyrence» come from the beer capital of Munich and are at least as sparklingly delicious and (over)foamingly imaginative as the blond wet. The guys make melodic thrash metal in the style of greats like Metallica, Megadeth or Trivium. "The Hospital" is the name of her new EP, which contains seven strong songs with catchy melodies. Anyone who feels pleasantly reminded of the early and best times of the popular genre greats mentioned when they first try out the lively song material will not be disappointed in the slightest by these Bavarian quality suppliers.

Cyrence-The Hospital

The cornerstones for «Cyrence» were released in 2006 as a solo project by singer Tim. They were only on the road as a full band from 2009. Based in Munich, the band currently consists of Tim Gratwohl (vocals and guitar), Dominic Millett (lead guitar and animals), Chris Hammer (bass and backing vocals) and Tom Goldberg (drums). According to "Cyrence" mastermind Grathwohl, the name has no real meaning. The guys from Munich describe their style as melodic thrash metal, packed in a modern guise with lots of riffs that invite you to bang your head, but there are also melancholic and calm passages. Solid guitar work is clearly in the foreground here. The vocals are rough and edgy. I have to admit that I hadn't heard much from the four boys from «Cyrence» until those days. With the release of their first EP called «The Hospital», that changed abruptly.

With «The Hospital» you get almost 37 minutes of finest melodic thrash metal. With the track "A New Beginning..." an unusual beginning for thrash metal comes into play: Heavy-heavy guitar sound that swells more and more to lead to the inevitable. So after this intro the band starts right away with «Dystopia» and this contains a riff that could well have come from the Canadian Annihilator. Very melodic with Hetfieldian touches, but with some more steam! The guitars pull and so does the vocal part, which radiates a lot of energy. In his fast robe, he is reminiscent of classics like "Right the Lightning" or the good old days of Trivium's "The Crusade". With "This Life" it continues in annihilator tempo and string wizard Dominic Millett delivers an ingenious solo that can be heard. The song bangs out of the speakers brutally and with heaviness. Really decent Thrash Metal! Due to the nimble drum beat in connection with the stretchy guitar riff, the song really sticks in your head and is completely convincing with its melodic thrash attitude.

With the title track "The Hospital" we say goodbye to reality and devote ourselves to the fantasy horror genre lyrically. The number goes well forward and invites you to bang your head. At first, the song is reminiscent of hits like "Battery", albeit with an oriental touch. The track then quickly drifts into an anthem that, at just under seven minutes, could have been found on a long-lost Metallica record. With «I Won't Fall» a good tempo is also presented, but here a lot of value was placed on the melodic. In addition to hard riffs, the guitar also delivers some very melodic parts. The section in which the vocals have priority and stands alone in the breaks of the instruments is also interesting. The more than 7 minutes are very entertaining - and those who were looking forward to guitar solos will be served with "You Kill Me". The density of dexterous and fast solos are convincing. A good mix of quite groovy melodies, strong drums and vocals with the force of a fist in the face. With "Purity Control" the entertaining pleasure ends unfortunately. Here drummer Thomas Goldberg shows what he's got. From blast beats to double bass attacks, everything is included. Well done Thrash Metal, which then softens a bit towards the end and makes you want to go through the whole EP again.

The Munich band "Cyrence" show with their first EP that they can make much more mature music than some others in the segment. The music is not a simple bludgeon, but consists above all of intelligent songwriting and technically good music. Strong, melodic Thrash, whose hooklines aren't fully developed yet, but the beginnings are there. The riffs are catchy and the singer's voice is more than fleetingly reminiscent of a young James Hetfield. What Metallica lost after their old albums has apparently been rediscovered in Munich and processed into first-class metal. Of course «Cyrence» don't reinvent Thrash Metal, but the album works well as it is and conveys a qualitative - unfortunately quite short - listening experience that not only makes fans of the role models sit up and take notice. For a debut work, everything sounds admirably mature. If the guys can keep the standard of the EP and even improve it for later albums, all doors are open to them. The disc can be recommended to everyone who likes to listen to old school thrash metal and who likes melodies and lyrics with content.

"Dravens Tales from the Crypt" has been enchanting for over 15 years with a tasteless mixture of humor, serious journalism - for current events and unbalanced reporting in the press politics - and zombies, garnished with lots of art, entertainment and punk rock. Draven has turned his hobby into a popular brand that cannot be classified.

My blog was never designed to spread news, let alone get political, but with current affairs I just can't help but capture information here that is otherwise censored on all other channels. I am aware that the design page may not seem "serious" to many in this regard, but I will not change this to please the "mainstream". Anyone who is open to non-state-compliant information sees the content and not the packaging. I've tried enough to provide people with information over the last 2 years, but quickly noticed that it never matters how it's "packaged", but what the other person's attitude towards it is. I don't want to put honey on anyone's mouth to meet expectations in any way, so I'll keep this design because hopefully at some point I'll be able to stop making these political statements, because it's not my goal to go on like this forever ;) I leave it up to everyone how they deal with it.
