Two years after "Doomsday Machine" it's that time again, the archenemy strikes another blow with "Rise Of The Tyrant«. In advance of the new Arch Enemy Machwerkes had announced boss Michael Amott that one would go back to the old times. The guitars on this album are the absolute highlight, the runs and solos so awesome that you want to hug the Amott brothers. Arch Enemy have become more melodic with this album and the songs run by the red thread.
After the first run of the new record, it quickly becomes clear what kind of fireworks Michael Amott and his returned brother Christopher are setting off as a big movie. Almost all tracks are packed with insane leads and melodies. Once again the nasty and hateful voice of Angela Gossow towers over the melodic framework. In contrast to the previous albums, the exiled Cologne woman is more diverse than ever. And yet I wonder how this album with more variable vocals would come across?
