Thomas Gabriel Fischer (Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Triptykon) hits the nail on the head in the following interview and is 100% right about everything! The genre has been co-opted by corporations and made marketable, mainstream and accessible. The music doesn't have to really captivate you anymore, it's only produced with the aim of being digestible for a wider audience. The true underground still exists, but they'll never have that bombastic sense of rebellion, that experience of creating or even hearing something that hasn't been experienced in the music world before. That analog rawness is something that needs to be explored now, it's niche and will never again come with that sense of innovation like it did in the dawn of heavy metal. I couldn't agree more. I've never heard an interview with him, but he expresses his thoughts really well...
When belief is strong, it can move mountains.
But if he is still blind, then he buries the best under it.

It should be clear that running dravenstales.ch takes a lot of time and costs. To cover costs and maybe a free drink or two, I could plaster the whole place with advertising. But I like my readers, which is why I want to offer them a (largely) ad-free reading experience. If you like what's going on and/or what's going on on this website, then it would be nice if you somehow shared the fun here would support, Thank you!
