Guillermo del Toro is the undisputed master of fantastic stories. The creator of such genre classics as "Pan's Labyrinth", "Hellboy", "Pacific Rim" and most recently the TV series "The Strain" lets a young writer experience in his new film as director and co-author of the screenplay that reality is much writes more terrifying stories than she ever dreamed up for her novels. England in the 19th century: the young author Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) has not been married to Sir Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston) for long, but she is already beginning to doubt whether her incredibly charming husband is really who he is seems.
