Even when she's not in front of the camera for «Insidious», Lin Shaye keeps us scared and anxious. She recently took on the spirits of Japanese mythology in The Grudge. For the horror thriller "Dreamkatcher" (not to be confused with the older Stephen King film adaptation of the same name with a C in the title), she refocuses on a role that suits her best - that of the wise, helpful elderly lady, who assists others (Insidious says hello) in the fight against supernatural powers. And like James Wan's (The Conjuring) shocker, evil seems to come from a boy. It doesn't help that his cinematic parents have a lot of experience in the field of supernatural horror.
Radha Mitchell ventured into «Silent Hill» fifteen years ago and then starred in Blumhouse-produced «The Darkness» in front of the camera. Her co-star Henry Thomas narrowly escaped the spook in "Hill House" in 2018, but is probably best known to the general public as Elliott from Steven Spielberg's "ET - The Extra-Terrestrial". Gail (Mitchell) and her boyfriend (Thomas) move to upstate America with newcomer Finlay Wojtak-Hissong (The Banana Splits Movie) to start a new life. The peace is short-lived, however, when Josh (Wojtak-Hissong) begins to show signs of a mental disorder that takes on increasingly violent proportions and seems linked to an ancient talisman. And the time to save him is running out. "Dreamkatcher" will be released on April 28th on DVD, Blu-ray and digitally in US stores. It remains to be seen when and in what form «Dreamkatcher» will come to us.
