In a TV spot for IT: Chapter 2, the ancient demon in the form of a Paul Bunyan statue strikes, targeting Richie Tozier, played by Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live). In the novel, Richie is attacked by the statue while still a teenager, and years later, when he returns to Derry, the statue transforms into a gigantic effigy of Pennywise. In Derry one is nowhere and at no time safe from attacks by ES. The MPAA gives the sequel an R rating for "disturbingly violent content, gory footage, language and sexual content."
