Netflix is countering the somewhat cooled hype surrounding «The Walking Dead» with its own zombie series. But instead of just picking up a similar concept with new characters, the format called "Kingdom" comes with a special trick. The fight against the undead is made more difficult here by the fact that the events are set in the Middle Ages and the times of the Joseon Dynasty, which sheds a whole new light on how the zombie apocalypse is dealt with. With the following trailer, Netflix lets us take a first look at the elaborate collaboration with the successful Korean director Kim Seong-hun (Teo-neol – Tunnel), which is supposed to cause high tension and goosebumps worldwide from January 25, 2019. "Kingdom" is the second Netflix original from South Korea, alongside the monster film "Okja" by "The Host" creator Bong Joon-ho. The theme of the eight-part series is how the crown prince embarks on a suicide mission across the country to get to the bottom of the outbreak of a mysterious plague.
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely, in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting “Holy shit, what a ride!”
