In the mystery thriller «Searching», actor John Cho (The Grudge, Star Trek: Into Darkness) slips into the role of a father who is actually quite happy and thinks he knows his 16-year-old daughter. His relationship with her could hardly be better. When she disappears one day without a trace, he is on the brink of despair. Where is she and what happened? While the police tried everything to solve the case, the father looked for clues on his daughter's laptop where no one had looked before. As he fully investigates this and contacts her friends who apparently weren't, he learns more and more about his own child. In doing so, he realizes how little he actually knew about her and that she was a completely different person than he thought. Since the action primarily unfolds via the webcam on her computer, "Searching" almost seems like a mixture of Netflix's hit series "Dead Girls Don't Lie" (13 Reasons Why) and "Unknown User". What is the solution to the riddle in «Searching»? Answers are already waiting for us this August.
