«The Current War» orientiert sich an wahren Ereignissen, denn Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts entbrannte tatsächlich eine Auseinandersetzung zwischen Wechsel- und Gleichstrom-Vertretern, die als «Stromkrieg» (im Englischen: «War of Currents») in die Geschichte einging und zwischen den Anhängern von Thomas Alva Edison (1847 – 1931) und George Westinghouse (1846 – 1914) ausgetragen wurde. Der Streit um Gleich- oder Wechselspannung gilt als erste Auseinandersetzung über das Format eines wirtschaftlichen Produktes. Am Ende ging Westinghouse als Sieger aus dem Wettstreit hervor. Hauptdarsteller Benedict Cumberbatch hat inzwischen Erfahrung darin, reale Menschen zu porträtieren, spielte er doch bereits in auf wahren Geschichten basierenden Filmen wie «The Imitation Game – Ein streng geheimes Leben», «Black Mass» und «Inside Wikileaks – Die fünfte Gewalt» mit. Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (Ich und Earl und das Mädchen) übernahm die Umsetzung des Stoffes. Kinostart ist aktuell der 11. Januar 2018.
At the end of the 1880s, the world was ready for a comprehensive power grid. Soon every household should be able to be supplied with electricity as desired. At least that is the dream of the pioneers Thomas Edison (Benedict Cumberbatch) and George Westinghouse (Michael Shannon). But the men are by no means pulling together for this project. While the Edison Electric Light Company prefers direct current, the Westinghouse Electric Company relies on alternating voltage. While Edison is fighting in court for the patent for his light bulbs, Westinghouse has to deal with completely different problems because his alternating voltage is considered dangerous in the minds of the people. And the scientist Nikola Tesla still has his part to play.

My blog was never designed to spread news, let alone get political, but with current affairs I just can't help but capture information here that is otherwise censored on all other channels. I am aware that the design page may not seem "serious" to many in this regard, but I will not change this to please the "mainstream". Anyone who is open to non-state-compliant information sees the content and not the packaging. I've tried enough to provide people with information over the last 2 years, but quickly noticed that it never matters how it's "packaged", but what the other person's attitude towards it is. I don't want to put honey on anyone's mouth to meet expectations in any way, so I'll keep this design because hopefully at some point I'll be able to stop making these political statements, because it's not my goal to go on like this forever
