A new live-action adaptation of the Tarzan story had been in the planning stages at Warner Brothers since 2003. But for a long time the project "The Legend of Tarzan" simply did not progress. The director kept changing, new screenwriters were hired and the focus of the story was set differently. The announcement of creating a three-piece suit from the fabric drew circles and was denied again. It wasn't until 2012 that filmmaker David Yates (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2) took over directing the live-action spectacle. Doesn't sound like a lucky star, under which the film seems to stand, the plot of «The Legend of Tarzan» also sounds more like... well:
It's been years since Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgård) left the African jungle and moved to England. Here he now lives in London under the name John Clayton III as Lord Greystoke with his beloved wife Jane Porter (Margot Robbie). Although the man who was once raised by monkeys now feels comfortable in civilization, he gladly accepts an invitation to the Congo. As a trading partner, he returns to his former homeland to meet Chief Mbonga (Djimon Hounsou). Tarzan does not notice, however, that he is only a small pawn in a far-reaching conspiracy initiated by the cunning Belgian Captain Rom (Christoph Waltz).
