At the end of episode 10 of season 5 we met Aaron. Ross Marquand plays this new series character and is noticeably well-groomed compared to the survivors in our group. As readers of Robert Kirkman's comics know, Aaron is one of the "recruiters" of the Alexandria Protection Zone ("ASZ" for short), who has obviously been watching the group around Rick for quite a while.
Maggie and Sasha seemed quite perplexed by his sudden appearance and his obvious peacefulness, but they still pointed their guns at him, even though he assured: "I have good news!" In the promo video for the upcoming 11th episode entitled "The Distance" we see that Rick doesn't exactly trust the stranger at first and has him examined in detail... After various negative experiences, think of the Governor or Gareth , the group around Rick seems to react more suspiciously than ever towards all strangers, which becomes clear in their dealings with Aaron. As we can see in the following videos from episode 11, when Rick searches Aaron's backpack, he finds, among other things, some photos of what appears to be a fortified fence. Rick then yells, “Did anyone see anything?” as he runs around the barn with a searching look. Does he suspect that Aaron's accomplices are outside? At least that's what Glenn's check through the barn boards suggests. “You can trust me!” explains Aaron, to which Rick coolly replies: “We don’t know you.”
We then see Abraham, Maggie, Glenn, Michonne and Rosita armed on the street and a little later, at night, Rick and Glenn in a car. "It is a trap!" Rick shouts before Glenn, who is behind the wheel, drives full throttle through a herd of walkers. Are we threatened with the long-awaited attack of a giant horde of zombies? We also see Glenn in a scene in the forest where he is attacked from behind by a walker who is about to bite him on his upper arm. Can Glenn defend himself in time? Michonne's horrified look shortly afterwards doesn't bode well... At the same time, we hear Rick's voice snapping at the others: "We need eyes in every direction," before he predicts, "We may not know how or when, but they are coming to us fetch!" Who is Rick talking about? The biters? Or about the “Wolves”, who, according to the clues in episode 9, could represent another, presumably dangerous group of survivors? In this episode, Rick seems more alarmed than ever - almost paranoid, which gives hope for an action-packed eleventh episode after the dark and melancholic 10th episode of "The Walking Dead" Season 5!
