After the healing in Washington DC fizzled out and after the bloody midseason finale of The Walking Dead season 5, the group is again without refuge. Where are they going to move next? Read here what's in store for the survivors in the second half of the new season from February 8, 2015!
How will the survivors deal with the death of Beth after the midseason finale (episode 8 "Coda")? And where will they go now that Father Gabriel's church no longer offers them sanctuary? Although the official title of the upcoming 9th episode is not yet known, the producers have already commented several times on the premiere of the second half of "The Walking Dead" season 5. And if you believe them, we can expect a gigantic start to the next eight episodes of TWD! Written by showrunner Scott M. Gimple and directed by Greg Nicotero - this dream team was also responsible for the phenomenal season premiere of the current 5th season, expects us with episode 9 "the best episode we've ever made", so Nicotero last on the Walker Stalker Con inAtlanta.
After the death of Beth (Emily Kinney), it is clear that, at least for two people, nothing will be the same again: In the promo video for the upcoming 9th episode, we see both Daryl and Maggie in very intimate moments that reflect the grief of the show both of them about their lost comrade or sister. Despite everything, there was something good about the past events, because finally the group of survivors is reunited! But where this "family" is headed is the next big question for the entire second half of the new season. In the promo video, we hear Michonne say, "We're 100 miles away. What if this is a place where we could be safe? It's an opportunity. Instead of just being out here."
In the promotional video, we see Tyreese and Noah in an abandoned settlement, where they are about to enter a house. We also see Rick & Co. opening a large gate behind which a whole horde of Walkers is waiting for them. Where could they be at that point? There have already been speculations circulating online that it could be a place called "Shirewilt", which corresponds to the "Wiltshire Estates" from the comics and where the survivors could go to safety for a short time. According to various filming spoilers, it is also expected that the group will arrive in the Alexandria Safe Zone by episode 11 at the latest, where they will remain for the remainder of Season 5. All in all, one has the impression that there could actually be a time jump between the end of the 8th episode and the beginning of the 9th episode, as suspected - if you just look at Carol in the opening scene of the promo video, how she is behind Daryl and Rick walks up like nothing happened, this seems quite likely!
In the sneak peek for episode 9 we also see the group of survivors preparing a funeral. After Beth's death in the midseason finale, it should be clear for whom. Or? But it could also be that Tyreese is attacked and bitten by a walker in the house that he enters with Noah? As we know, Tyreese is not one of the bravest zombie hunters and has had problems defending himself against enemies and, above all, killing them. The TV Tyreese has already "survived" his comic image, in other words: his storyline has already come to an end in terms of comics, which is why many have feared his death for a long time. In addition, Chad Coleman recently landed a new role in sci-fi drama The Expanse, playing a former Navy officer caught up in a battle between Earth and Mars. This drama spans ten episodes, scheduled to air in 2015, so it's safe to assume that filming has long since started. Could this actually be an indication that Chad Coleman is no longer with TWD? Anything is possible, which is why we have no choice but to wait two months until the ninth episode is broadcast...
