We are just hours away from the tragic premiere of The Walking Dead season 7 and now a clip has surfaced the web showing the death of a main character. But is this really a real scene from the first episode? It's a fuzzy, blurry video - or rather, a video of a video that proves the poor quality. Nevertheless, it is clear and distinct which character is hit by Negan's courageous punch. Beware of spoilers!
Not just because Glenn desperately yells the victim's name: It's Maggie! The pregnant Maggie who everyone was sure would be spared by Negan. After the first blow, Maggie gets up again. Negan is impressed with how tough she is. Even now, after the first injury, Maggie doesn't back down. She is defiant, resisting the natural reflex of crying or fleeing. Instead, she opens her mouth and spits blood in Negan's direction. He wants to see her plead for her life - a satisfaction she doesn't give him.
Then comes the second, devastating blow, which hits Maggie with full force on the skull. You can still hear the hurt moans, then the video ends abruptly. It's only a few seconds, but it's enough to make the fan community uneasy. For weeks everyone has been hearing that Glenn and Abraham are going to die. The footage of Maggie dying is too good to be fake. However, that does not mean that this exact scene is also used in the first episode of «The Walking Dead» Season 1. After all, it has also been known for several months that AMC shot several death scenes at the same time. This could be one of those scenes. A death that exists but does not appear in the series itself.
Or is it that Robert Kirkman, Greg Nicotero and the cast actually managed to mislead the fans for half a year and Maggie is the victim? It would prove Negan's brutality once more. What is striking, however, is that the clip of Maggie's death scene is still online. A leaked video from the finale of the 6th season "The Walking Dead" was fought back in such a way that it was offline again after a few minutes even on YouTube. AMC doesn't seem to intervene here...
