The new season will premiere on American television on October 11th. But who are Rick & Co.'s new opponents? What does Morgan's return mean for the group? And will they eventually find a cure? The questions surrounding the upcoming 6th season of “The Walking Dead” are numerous and so we have summarized for you the things we already know today.
The appearance of Morgan at the end of season 5 was not only a pleasant surprise for the fans - series creator Robert Kirkman was also very happy about the return of the experienced zombie hunter, as he said in an interview a few weeks ago: “Of course it is "It's about a pretty changed Rick and an equally changed Morgan, who will therefore have a completely different relationship with each other," with which he also confirmed the statements of his colleague Gale Anne Hurd, who had even gone so far as to create a version of this in today's Rick former Morgan from season 3 - always on the verge of freaking out, almost paranoid, but with the best intentions to protect his loved ones. "The question will be how the two will interact, how they will work together - should they work together at all - and what comes from those interactions will basically be the backbone of this season 6," Kirkman said. Morgan probably won't be too happy about Rick's brutal execution in the Season 5 finale.
While humans were the greater threat than the undead for quite a while in season 5, this will change completely at the beginning of the next season. The fact that Rick & Co. will not primarily have to deal with “human” threats in the coming season is probably a clear sign that our undead friends, the walkers, will make bigger appearances again. The trailer also confirms this, although despite all the looming danger we can't ignore the “Wolves”. Greg Nicotero explained in an interview why he finds the “Wolves” so exciting: “I love these guys! Just based on the fact that these are people who basically kill other people and then use them as ammunition to create an entire zombie army!” We're excited to see what or who will make life difficult for our heroes. Not to forget that there could still be a row internally, because Rick's actions in the finale probably didn't make all the residents of the ASZ happy.
In the following three and a half minute trailer we can see a lot: for example Rick and his “family”, as well as the people from the Alexandria protection zone. There seems to be some tension, we see snippets of Rick and Morgan arguing heatedly, Rick yelling at him and keeping his gun pointed at him throughout the conversation. And of course the walkers are back at the start and seem more numerous than ever before. Apparently they are besieging the ASZ from all sides. Will the survivors find a way out? Unfortunately, one thing won't make it: We can also see in the trailer that the zombies attack a woman... - unfortunately we couldn't tell who exactly they are. Someone shouts: “Rick is dangerous!” Things are really going haywire in the ASZ, the residents seem torn between Rick and Morgan. At the end of the trailer, we see Daryl sitting on the ground in the forest, seemingly tied up and threatened by a strange group! How did he get into this?
Daryl Dixon is in serious danger and is separated from the group and one thing is already certain: If Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) dies one day in “The Walking Dead,” AMC will be in for a huge shitstorm. For several years, fans of the zombie series have been threatening to kill Daryl if anyone even thinks about it. “If Daryl Dies, We Riot” has long since become the slogan of die-hard fans and adorns buttons and shirts. These fans, of all people, are likely to be more than alarmed after the first trailer for season 6. Do we have reason to worry? Apparently not, because producer David Alpert reminds us that the Dixon brothers are not going to die so easily. Although Daryl's brother Merle is no longer among the living, he has escaped some tricky situations and survived for a long time. Alpert's words sound as if Daryl can escape again, even if things look very bad for him. Comic connoisseurs suspected that the “Wolves” would replace the “Saviors” in the series. Who do you think are the strangers who are targeting Daryl?
