In addition to new actors and lots of walkers, we will get to know a new colony in The Walking Dead Season 6, which will make the hearts of comic fans beat faster: The Hilltop Colony! What this means for the storyline in the new episode and which characters we can therefore look forward to, you will find out below.
Fans of The Walking Dead comics are usually familiar with the potential storylines in upcoming seasons of the TV series, with one of the most anticipated storylines likely to be the introduction of the Hilltop Colony. It is a peasantry of about 200 people and led by a man named Gregory. The special thing about Hilltop is that, with the exception of its high fences, this colony does not (initially) have any weapons, but instead trades with the surrounding communities. It is also interesting that the hilltop is only about 30 kilometers from the Alexandria protection zone.
Now how can a peaceful community of farmers appeal to comic book fans so much? Well, that's not least due to its residents and the not always so conflict-free trade relations with other communities, such as "The Sanctuary", the home of Negan and his Saviors. This rogue squad thrives on mafia-style forcing surrounding colonies to provide them with goods and then offering them protection. As Scott M. Gimple already announced, we could actually make the acquaintance of super villain Negan in season 6, but we can probably assume that we will first get to know the Hilltop Colony a little better. And with it one of its residents, Paul "Jesus" Monroe, who is one of the most popular characters from the comics due to his later loyalty to Rick. Filming took place at Raleigh Studios in Senoia, where the prison was set up in Seasons 3 & 4. It seems that the old prison sets are now being reused for the Hilltop Colony, complete with the characteristic fence made of meter-high wooden posts!
We are curious to see when Rick & Co. will make the acquaintance of Hilltop and its residents, but if, as expected, the giant herd of zombies attacked in the midseason finale, it would be very likely - according to the course of the comics - that At the beginning of the second half of the new season we will first see Jesus in Alexandria, who will then finally lead Rick & Co. to Hilltop. However, this acquaintance also heralds the later war against the Saviors, in which the people of Alexandria, Hilltop and "The Kingdom" join forces to fight against Negan and his brutal warriors. It should no longer be a secret who many comic fans are particularly worried about - but we are probably not the only ones who would like the story line from the comics not to be taken so seriously in the case of our dear pizza delivery man becomes…
Gregory is the leader of the Hilltop Colony and is known in the comics as a sleazy, opportunistic guy who is only interested in saving his own A ... and who, like Casanova, likes to chase after pretty women. Jesus made his debut in the 91st edition of the comics. He meets the residents of Alexandria on a supply run and tells them that he comes from the Hilltop Colonnie. The character is called Jesus because of his appearance and tendency to help others. He is an excellent fighter and a literal survivor who should interest others in his community, because trading with other groups is not all positive.
